Wanted: Your 'old' ICQ account!
Monday 24 January 2005 at 07:12 am A few years ago I was visiting my parents place and had been drinking quite a bit. While feeling no pain I decided to setup my ICQ UIN on thier computer so I could chat with some friends. No problem! *clickety-click* and I was up and chatting in no time at all. Life was good!A bit later that day (and after several more refreshments) I was finished chatting I wanted to remove my UIN from their computer. Whould you want your parents chatting to people in *your* name!? Well, without much trouble at all I [DELETED] my account completely.. *sob* So, I went from having an ICQ number with a *very* low UIN to the one I am using now 12033355.
I was devistated. I couldn't believe what I had done. I was in denial for a very long time and wouldn't tell anyone what had happened. We all do stupid things I guess.. It's about time I stand up and admit what I did. Yes, I am an idiot.
That brings me to the reason for this post. I would really like to have an 'old' ICQ account again. Sure.. it's kind of petty.. but having an ICQ UIN with a low number really does mean a lot to me. If you have an ICQ account that you just don't use anymore and would like to make my day, please contact me with the account information. I'd be forever in your debt!

I don't understand, what did you do? Can you realy delete on the ICQ sever?

Yes, you can delete your account from the ICQ server. After realizing what I had done I contacted customer support and was told that the account was not recoverable. It had been permanently deleted. :(

A friend of mine has 31415, the first five digits of Pi. He got it from someone working at Mirabilis back in the early days. I believe he wanted to sell it on ebay but it didn't really work out. Maybe you should talk to him? ;)
