I thought the potholes around here were getting bad until I saw this picture...
I run a
Konfabulator widget on my desktop called Picture Frame which accesses over 4,500 pictures from the past few years. I didn't think I'd much like the widget when I downloaded and installed it but the memories pulled up by the random selection of pictures I am presented with daily make it invaluable. The picture below was taken while on R&R in Nairobi Kenya in the fall of 1994.
The safari I was participating in was a welcome change to the day to day life in Rwanda. The zebra pictured below was but one of thousands in the herds passed that day. One of the photos I took that day was published as the cover picture of the United nations magazine which was distributed to my peers while we were still deployed in Africa... Memories..

I was going through some of the pictures taken during my recent trip to Italy. While there I made a point to visit the Canadian War Cemetery in Agira. The picture above is only one headstone of the nearly 500 Canadians resting there. The world just might be a better place if we take the time to think about these folks more than once a year.
If you find a minute I'd highly recommend having a look at the video named "A Pittance of Time" by Terry Kelly. It can be viewed through a link in the left margin of the front page of this site.
